C60 - Troy Davis
This episode of Cause in 60 Seconds features a mashup of a phone conversation between Troy Davis and Amnesty International. Convicted of murder in 1991, Davis has remained on death row for nearly 20 years and continues to face execution. sadly, if he's found innocent, he's not the only one. check out the innocence project and how they're using DNA to prove people's innocence. in the case for troy, it's sad that they can't do that since there is no physical evidence or weapon in the crime he has been alleged to have committed. I wrote a blog entry about the fallacy of eyewitness accounts. Check it out and tell me what you think! http://bit.ly/4C7duT
the supreme court may decide as early as TODAY if they'll grant him another hearing. sign the petition to support troy at http://www.iamtroy.com/
WOW. This video gave me goosebumps.
I think most people in this country would be shocked to see the Unites States on a Top 5 list with China, Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia for ANYTHING. We think we hold ourselves to a higher standard and yet we sanction murder in the name of order and public welfare, finding ourselves in the company of countries whose own practices in this right we find abhorrent.
Good job Causecast! I watched this video three times back to back.
very sad example of our justice system at it's worst - thank you for shedding light on this. reminds me of the story of Mumia Abu-Jamal: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mumia_Abu-Jamal
